Designing a Testimonials Page That Actually Convinces People

Most testimonial pages are boring walls of text. Here's how to make yours a conversion tool.

A dedicated testimonials page can be one of the highest-converting pages on your entire website - but only if it's designed properly. Most businesses dump a list of text quotes on a page and wonder why it doesn't influence buying decisions. The format matters as much as the content.

Video testimonials are the gold standard. Even a 30-second smartphone video of a happy customer saying nice things about your work is more persuasive than a paragraph of written text. The customer's face, voice, and genuine enthusiasm create an emotional connection that text simply can't replicate.

Organise testimonials by service type or use case. If someone is considering a boiler replacement, they want to see reviews from other boiler replacement customers, not generic praise about your business. Tagged or filtered testimonials let visitors find social proof that's directly relevant to their situation.

Include key details with each testimonial: the customer's name, location, the service they received, and ideally a photo of the completed work alongside their quote. Specificity builds credibility. 'Great service' from 'John, Manchester' is less convincing than 'AmplifySME installed our new combi boiler in one day - the team was professional, tidy, and explained everything clearly' from 'John D, Stockport - Boiler Replacement, January 2026'.
